1. Plan ahead. Most Brides begin planning their wedding 9 Months to a year in advance but wait until the last minute to hire a DJ. When you start planning your reception don't forget the most important ingredient to a fun reception, your mobile DJ.
2. Shop for quality. Sometimes easier said than done when the typical bride might not fully understand what "quality" in a mobile DJ service is. | Below is a basic run-down of reception events following an early evening ceremony. Keep in mind, it's only a timeline! (Your own affair doesn't need to be as detailed and rigid.) The key to planning is being aware of your own needs and those of your guests, so feel free to innovate! | |
| 6 P.M. | Guests arrive; bride, groom and attendants are having pictures taken elsewhere. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are served as your DJ plays background music. |
| 6:30 | Bride, groom and attendants join the reception. Introductions |
| 6:45 | Meet and greet, Bride and Groom Mingle |
| 7:00 | Lets Eat! Bride and Groom eat first |
| 7:45 | Bride and grooms First Dance, Father Daughter Dance, Bridal Party Dance |
| 8:00 | Open Dance for all guests, DJ accepts requests, Dance time! |
| 8:30 | Toast in front of wedding cake, and possibly some "words of honor" from the wedding party, followed by Cutting of the cake, then Cake is served. |

Location, Location, Location: All About Reception Sites

The question has just been popped-and what you really need now is a place to hold a party. Reception sites today are breaking the wedding mold when it comes to creativity and special settings.
There are basically two general types of locations. The first is on-site, which means that the place can provide services such as food, drinks, wait staff, tables, linens, china, maybe even flowers, music and the wedding cake. Some favorite on-site places include:
